Confessions of a Pattaya visitor newbie
11 Sep 06 Although this is my first trip report, I didn't feel like a newbie from the beginning and this most certainly due to the past experiences of Pattaya Talk Board members and members of the Lost Angels Chats. Being retired a retired military member and having traveled all over the world I was able to look at this trip with a fresh set of eyes and indulge in per say the forbidden fruits of past trips. I had been to Bangkok several times but never as a monger, I completely bypassed this location and head straight to Pattaya via advice of who I call now friends.
The following is in a narrative format of my accounts and experiences daily.
While sitting in LAX awaiting an early morning flight on China Air I counted over 22 stewardess's for my flight each looking better than the first, the was my first glimpse in the eye candy for what was waiting for me in LOS. After a grueling 18 hour flight via Taipei to Bangkok I would have to say my flight choice left little desired after affect when it was all said and done. Although I had thought I had done my home work, in reality I should have checked on the seat measurements. My thought process at the time was price and not comfort and I will tell you now comfort will come into play for my next trip. My total trip price through Nova travel was $945 with that I received selected seating in the last row of the aircraft, the seats that don't recline and you loose approximately 2 inches of knee space when the seat in front of you does recline. Now this wouldn't have been so bad if I was say 5'4" and weighed 150lbs but I'm actually 6'5" and weigh about 280lbs.

After arriving BKK, I quickly cleared customs, exchanged about $300 to Baht and met up with another BM (JIM) and then found our prearranged taxi driver waiting for us right on time. The taxi cost was 1500 baht plus tolls which equaled about 850 baht each in a midsized Toyota. The taxi service was prearranged through the hotel I made reservations with in Pattaya. This was another first for me as I soon found out these drivers are truly fearless. In approximately 1 ˝ hours, weaving heavy traffic and tailgating at speeds in excess of 100mph we made it to Pattaya's Sabai Inn. In all honesty, I can't recommend this taxi service as I was literally scared but he did get us there in one piece.

The Sabai Inn on Soi 2 was definitely more than I expected from an excellent location, good view, and great room. The lobby made the first impression which was elegantly decorated and a very professional staff. I opted for a second floor room for only 700 baht a night and was more than happy with it. I had a giant King size bed, two comfortable chairs and table, TV (although I didn't watch to much of it, I think they are put there for girls benefits), a dressing table/mirror, a massive wardrobe with a large installed digital safe and a mini fridge full the hotels beverages and snacks which I had the bellboy remove upon acceptance of the room.
Following the advice of BMs I had literally made notes of the do's/don'ts and upon checking out my room made sure everything worked including the telephone, air conditioner and hot water. I had the bellboy clean out the fridge; find me two extra pillows for the massive bed and two additional towels for the bath. I quickly made friends with the staff to include the maid service which I believe ensured timely daily cleanup, always an abundant supply of towels and daily express laundry service. My total hotel stay ended up costing me 11,451 baht for 15 days stay and that included my internet service and two liters of water a day.

I then called up BM/ExPat Jack Corbett (USA) and arranged to meet him and his girl friend in my lobby in about 2 hours and then for my first tour of the LOS. By this time it was around 1500 hrs and I took off for Big C to pick up the necessities that I didn't bring with and some additional snacks, water, soda, and whiskey. On the way back, I stopped in a beer bar along 2nd road/Soi 2 for my first beer and little chat with a few ladies but I cut that short and headed to my room to put away my purchases and get quick shower.
By 1700 hrs, I was in the lobby meeting Jack and his lovely girl friend Ying.

They had ridden a motor bike to my hotel and Jack asked Ying to drive his bike down to Soi 6 and meet us at the Bee Bar. Jack and I headed out for a short walk to Soi 6 were Jack pointed out some of the better spots along the way and gave me a good orientation to the area. At the Bee bar we met up with a friend of Jack's named John L. (UK) who has been living in Pattaya for the past 12 years. John proved to be great guy and through the coming days was the perfect guide/friend to hang out with. Once arriving at the Bee Bar, a small cuties named Noim immediately attached herself to me and I soon found a small piece of heaven over the course of 3 to 4 beers. The plan was to only stop for a beer and then press on to the next bar but the rain started falling. After maybe 2 hours we decide to make a break for it to the Sportsman Inn for some supper. I had a great Fish–n-chip plate and beer for 195 baht and was way more than a big man could eat.

Finally, the rain had slowed to only a trickle and we headed to the Cherry Bar on Soi 8 to pay for the transportation for the Bang Chang Bar crawl. At the Cherry Bar, I met Hammer and several of his ladies and had a couple of beers but then decided to take off to walking street (WS) with John L. Jack/Ying needed to head back to his condo and we made plans to get together the next day.
Once on WS the 1st stop was at the Beaver GG and then to Peppermint Palace GG both of these places had nude tabletop dancers and Heineken draws although at Beaver the girls are definitely in the grouping class and the Peppermint Palace had some of the best looking women of the whole trip. By 2300 hours, the day was taking its toll on me so I left John L. and headed back to the Bee Bar on Soi 6 met up with Noim again after again following some more good advice and talking about price/services we agreed to a 500 baht barfine and an "up to me price for the night". After a short walk back to the Sabai Inn, the front desk collected Noim ID and we headed to the room. Noim quickly made us a couple of drinks and invited me into the shower. Needless to say I didn't last to long after we hit the bed but that didn't stop her as she waited for the morning and gave me a great BBJ wake up, after breakfast at the Salsa Inn we went back to the room for another round of incredible sex after which I gave her 1000/40 bahts for services rendered and motorbike home.

After Noim left, I headed out to find BKK bank on 2nd road and exchange some currency. A good note to travelers in the future is to again follow the board advice; I brought approx. $2500 cash and $2500 in travelers check as I wanted to avoid ATM fees if possible. The bank closely scrutinized the cash but I had made sure I had only 2003 or newer bills. The banks give a higher rate for $50-100 bills, a some what lower rate for $10-20 bills and a super low rate for $1-5 bills. This didn't really affect me as I only had $100 bills but they were definitely looking for those 1996/9 bills. Additionally, American Express travelers check ended up getting me the best rates at just over 38 baht to the US dollar. Needless to say anytime you are exchanging money you will need your passport and contact information such hotel name, room number, phone number. With this said, other than exchanging currency my passport never left my in room safe.
Later that morning, I met up with Jack/Ying and headed over to TUC.COM to pickup at phone and converter for my camera and home cell phone. I found a new Nokia which through the help of Ying I was able to barter down to $2900 baht and a low volt converter for 75 baht. But later found out that both these items were a waste of money. I got looking at my Motorola cell phone and Canon camera battery chargers and both indicated they were suitable for 110-240 volts so the converter was no use to me and several days later I was able to get my US Motorola Razor cell phone unlocked for 500 baht which made it worldwide capable with only changing out SIM cards. So immediately sold my Nokia back for 1500 baht and just ate the lost as I feel my Razor phone was much easier to use.
Later that afternoon, I met John L. back the Bee Bar and had a drink with Noim and then headed for some lunch at the Sportsman Inn. After quick bite we headed over to Pat's Bar on Soi 6 where I met Von, now this isn't your typical bar on Soi 6. These girls are straight forward and you should expect to see BJ at the bar and on the chairs upon entering the premises. John L. has been a past manager at several different bars all over Pattaya and anywhere you go with him you can definitely expect the royal treatment as everyone knows him. While sitting at the bar I hadn't even tasted my first beer before Von had her lips wrapped around my cock and going to town. John L. on the other hand had two girls going at him back on one of the couches. I ended up short timing (ST) Von for some upstairs action, after a quick shower for the both of us (down the hall) we ended back in a seedy little room where Von began licking me all over my body ending up at my asshole, now some guys may like this and I will try almost anything once but I'm not into the ass munching thing so I had her move on to the BJ. After going downstairs and finding John L. under the close supervision of his two lady friends, we decided to hit a few more bars including the TG Bar, King Kong Bar and Good Fellas Bar were I met Pawn after a couple of rounds I negotiated my evening activities and BF'd her for 500 baht. During our stroll back to my hotel it started to rain so we ducked into another bar and played some pool and ate some bugs (my 1 st of many). With the open bar arrangements on 2nd rd it's pretty easy to walk a great distance from bar to bar without ever going outside and we just drank our way through many of these complexes on the way back to the room. As soon as we hit the room she showered and I followed and then we hit the bed for some of the most exiting sex I've ever had (at least I thought at the time), at least 10 positions and BBJ. After my hearty meal I returned to my room for some rest at it was still raining out and wanted to get ready for the bar crawl that evening. At approximately 1400, I left the hotel and decided I pop into a soapy and give it a try. Well let me tell you 1400 in the afternoon isn't the right time for a soapy, as Sabai Land massage only had about 6 girls in the fish bowl, while trying to decide on which girl to take, the bar keep was constantly checking on me and every time asking for a tip, another girl would come around with cool towels and ask for a tip. Now don't get me wrong, as I believe I'm a good tipper but I also believe it's up to me and I will only tip for good service and not just because someone ask for a tip. Regardless, I picked #181 a girl by the name of Ying. The soapy was a pleasant experience and Ying had a great set of tits by any Thai standard but her pubic hair felt like a scouring pad going over my body, anyway I ended up fucking her in the ass with a condom and then she cleaned us up and immediately asked for a tip. I just smiled at her and pressed on. The soapy cost me 1600 baht which I paid the manager prior to going to the room.
I then walked down to beach road and caught a baht bus down to a cut over street to Mikes Shopping Mall parking lot. Now, I should have known something was up when I saw all the water rushing down the side Soi but I pressed forward wadding in up to 3' of water by the time I reached 2nd road. I made my way to the mall parking lot and the guards there said the area was closed so I went across the street to a bar and had a drink to see if anyone else showed up. Being this was my first trip and not knowing many board members yet this didn't prove to be very successful and I took off about 1605 back towards Soi 2 wading the whole way to Pattayaland rd where baht buses were running again. (Later I found out I was sitting in the wrong bar and several members were present)

On my way back I jumped off the baht bus at Soi 6 at stepped inside for a visit with Noim at the Bee Bar and then went down to Good Fellas for another drink with Pawn. After that I cruised Soi 6 stopping in at Kiss Kool, Route 69 and finally made down to the Queen Vic pub for a rib dinner. Later that evening, I ended up at Classroom 2 on Soi 2 and met Yon after a couple of drinks we hit it off but another dancer there kept catching my eye and Yon noticed it right away, well soon there later Yon a called this other dancer over by the name Hueng, we all sat together drinking away and having a good time when I decided to press my luck and bar fine both of them for 600 baht each. On the way out of the Classroom go-go they decided we should go into the bar right next store which turned out to be the classroom 2 bar where they still picked up lady drink fees. But all in all I was having a great time and after 3 or 4 rounds we grabbed street snacks (dried fish, weeds, and bugs) and headed back to the room. Yon immediately dove into my whiskey supply and after a hearty meal and a few more drink we all piled into the shower and then I got entertained to a light lesbian show (Yon eating Hueng) and then a good 2 on 1 fuck/suck feast. After a good hour of heated sex we finished back in the shower.

Yon immediately pulled me a side and told me she felt I was more attracted to Hueng and wondered if it would be all alright if she could take off, so I paid her 1000 baht and she hit the door.
Now looking back, this was probably the best thing that could have happened to me as Hueng is absolutely beautiful and I would spend the next 5 days/nights with her.

I couldn't stand was to sleep the day away and I believe it's been said
over and over again "You'll have plenty of time to sleep when you die"
or at least in my opinion you can sleep when you get home. Needless to
say, but we slept in, I think I gut up around 1100 and ended wakening
Hueng around 1200, now I know this is normal behavior for most bar girls
but then again somebody once told me "it's up to you" so I told her what
I had planned for the day and Hueng eagerly agreed of course after
taking a double dose of Advil. By 1300
hrs, we all headed next door to the No Name restaurant for a light lunch
and then Hueng and I headed back to the hotel for a little personal
time. After we finished Hueng headed home to pick up some extra clothes
for the next few days and was back within an hour.
Early in
the evening around 1800 hrs we headed out towards WS for a night out by
ourselves, 1st we stopped by the Cherry Bar had a quick beer
and headed down Beach Rd to the Pizza Hut near the Spaghetti Factory and
had some dinner, after we ate we walked the side Soi to the Malibu Bar
to watch the lady boy show-overall pretty good considering it's an open
air bar and had lot's of customers.

for about an hour, and then stopped in at Silver Star Go-go on the same
Soi for another drink, but we got bored pretty quickly and headed
straight for WS. The first stop here was Angelwitch Go-go which has
without a doubt the best show in Pattaya. Hueng was thoroughly
impressed with their performances and was clapping and hollering as load
as any man there. I bought over a 1000 baht in tip ping pong balls and
we definitely had a ball just throwing them to the dancers. All in
all, we probably stayed there for over 3 hours and had plenty to drink.
We then took off for the FLB Bar and met MM, he quickly started talking
to Hueng in Thai and she was impressed.

couple of beers and listening to the FLB band we were off to the Tony's
Disco Complex. Now this place was something else with music WAY WAY to
loud but plenty of girls and a lot of guys a lot older than me watching
them. I have to tell you, I really had a good time here. Overall the
music was good, loud but good and Hueng found a few of her girlfriends
which ended up joining which I'm sure was planned. Guess who bought
all of the drinks?

When we
left Tony's it was raining cats and dogs, so we sat right inside the
entrance and played a few video games until rain slowed down a little.
At one point, a street vendor ducked inside the entrance with umbrellas
and I bought one for 100 baht so we departed down a side Soi towards 2
nd rd and stopped for some chicken feet and weeds to fortify
us for the nights awaiting activities.

couple of drinks and to pay up her barfine. After a few rounds were
tossed around between me the owner and a few other guys, Hueng and I
headed back to our room for some fun in the sack and a good nights rest.
17 Sep 06 After
wasting the entire morning to sleep Hueng and I got up headed out to
Jack's condo for a swim, lunch on the beach and to meet John (USA) and
his gorgeous girlfriend Beem. But by the time we arrived for lunch, we
only had about an hour until dark, so we enjoyed a small snack and a
couple of coconut drinks as we watched the sunset. This was very
romantic but due to time constraints we had to fore go the evening swim
and head back to the hotel to get ready for that night's activities.

with Jack/Ying, John/Beem and Pierre and his girl friend for the evening
at Slauss Haus on Soi Diamond for dinner. This place was excellent as
I had the ravioli and Hueng had the soup and salad bar. Our bill ran
just under 400 baht and it was more than we could eat.

dinner we all out to WS and visited several Go-go's including Living
Dolls 1- very nice but slow and only had approximately 20 dancers, the
X-Zone were I split my toe on the steel stairs leading up to the club.
The Go-go was dead and only had maybe 6 dancers that were doing very
little dancing. Next we were off to the Peppermint Palace where we knew
the beer was cold and cheap plus they had at least 50 dancers. We had
several beer here before Hueng and I separated from the group and headed
to Angelwitch for what I believe to be the best show in Pattaya. Again
we had a fantastic time here and watched two rounds of shows. After an
hour or so, we headed out and stopped by the Doll House 1-very good
atmosphere, lots of girls but the beer price were noticeably high. After
one round of drinks we took off to the Classroom 2 to pay Hueng's
barfine and have yet a few more drinks. By 0400 hrs, we found
ourselves back in bed in the room. I was totally exhausted but Hueng
wasn't ready for bed just yet, I kept telling her to just wait for the
morning but she insisted on going at it now, needless to say I gave in
and we had one the most wild encounters of drunken sex of the trip.
By 0600 hrs, we were asleep until the alarm went off around 1100 hrs. 18 Sep 06 Hueng knew
that I wanted to take in some sight during my visit so we planned to go
to the zoo today and later in the evening we attended the Alcazar show.
I made the reservations through the Sabai Inn front desk and they took
care of everything. A mini bus picked us up at 1300 at the front door
of the hotel and took us to the zoo for a guided tour. The tour only
lasted about 5 hours, but was fully packed with activities including a
tiger, crocodile and elephant show. The total cost of the guided tour
was 1000 baht.

By the
time we returned to the Sabai Inn the front desk clerk informed me, they
had found us front row, dead center tickets for the 2100 show that
evening at Alcazar. These seats were absolutely the best seats in the
house and we thoroughly enjoyed this lady boy show that could easily be
compared to any Broadway show. Normal seating a few rows back and on
the sides cost 500 baht and front center sections cost 600 baht each.

After the
show we, headed across 2nd rd to the Sabailand Massage house
to as Hueng said she had never been inside one and wanted to see what it
was all about. After one round of drinks we took and headed next door
and got Thai body massage each. This was an awesome experience as we
Hueng and me were laying side by side as the massage girls worked on us.
After the
massage we, stopped at one of the beer bars across from the Classroom 2
Go-go and shot some pool. Two of Hueng's friends showed up and after
half dozen rounds or so we all headed up to my room for some more fun.
As soon as we got back to the room, the whiskey started flowing and
Hueng's girlfriends Aa and Uin started to get pretty frisky with each
other. Every now and then, one of them would grab me but Hueng would
immediately pull me back and would say let's just watch. Now, Hueng
isn't too much into the lesbian thing and didn't want me to join in. But
her girl friends, put on a great lesbian show for us that lasted at
least 30 minutes. As soon as the girls hit the shower, Hueng stripped
me down and we got under the sheets for what Hueng meant to be a
quickie. But as I would imagine and some of you may know, after the
booze starts flowing everything works a little slower. Well before I
knew it, we soon had spectators of our own. After we had finished, we
hit the shower and Hueng ask me if should could leave for about an hour
to go with her girlfriends. I agreed and gave her a key to the room as
I was planning on going to sleep. After approximately an hour, I rolled
over in bed as Hueng was climbing in.

sleeping in thing has become routine probably from the late hours we've
been keeping as again today we wake up at just past 1100 hrs and after a
quick shower together, we jump back into bed for a little more luv'in by
1300 hrs we are out on Beach Rd., rented a couple of those covered
chairs for 20 Baht each, had some pineapple, prawns and rice for 100
baht and then I finally gave in to a beach masseuse who ended up giving
me one the best massages of the entire trip. While I was receiving my
massage, Hueng decides to get one of those fake tattoos as a surprise
for me. Now, most girls may try a little scroll work on their arm or
lower back but apparently she went a little over the top and ended up
getting a tattoo of a naked woman on her right bicep.

day to drive us on sightseeing adventure which included Big Buddha,
temple hill and all over Jomtien.

even took us back to our hotel waited for us to change and then took us
to Jack's condo in Nakula. This guy was the cream of the crop when it
came to drivers as he was very cautious and took his time getting around
the area. In the
evening Jack/Ying and us went to Antowin's restaurant for supper, this
place is great, an open air facility with a German buffet mixed with
Thai foods. After the eats we headed to the Malai bar for some drink,
music and pool. There was a weird feeling in the air so we headed back
to Jack's condo for more drinks when we discovered that the Thai gov't
had a coup going on. This immediately struck worry in my plans for the
rest of the trip and I immediately contacted the US dept of State to
ensure they knew where I was. After a few more Singhas it was time for
bed, it was too late to travel back to the hotel so Hueng and myself
spent the night in Jack's extra bedroom.

hrs, we were up and heading out the door to the No Name restaurant for
breakfast. By 1030 Jack/Ying and we were on Beach Rd trying to find a
suitable speed boat for a snorkeling trip out to Koh Lan Island and the
little island just north of Koh Lan. The boat trip was nice but rather
slow considering the boat look to be around 21 feet with a 200 HP
outboard motor. But the Captain did get us safely to our destinations
and we had a ball snorkeling and sitting on Tawan Beach. Hueng opted
not to take any motion sickness pills and ended up getting a little sea
sick but after a short nap on the beach she was up and running. We
rented the speed boat for 1800 baht for the entire day.

hrs we were back at the hotel getting ready for our dinner date with
John/Beem at Secrets G0-go, now I really like this place and although I
know it's very new, it had great atmosphere, good music that's not to
loud and plenty of great looking girls. I ended up having the Prawns and
chip which were excellent and Hueng had one the Secrets famous
hamburgers. Actually, I ended up eating half of it and can attest to
it being the best burger in Pattaya. We really liked Secrets and the
only thing we would have liked better would have been bigger tables or
even some type of bridge to put between tables as there were 4 in our
dinner party and it was apparent we pretty much sat at different table
which made it tough to carry on a conversation between John and me.

After
dinner we all went to the Polo Cub for some extravagant shows, the fire
eater was fantastic as well as the bondage/fetish show. After an hour or
so we left for Club Boeche were they had lots of dancers which included
a hot tub show which was very interesting. Club Boeche was very nice but
rather crowded which was probably due to how small the place actually
is. The only plus size to place was they had an upstairs to handle
overflow. Later we stopped by Coyotes G0-go but wasn't impressed as they
only had a few girls dancing and the table where we sat rarely had a
girl on it dancing. All in all, I would say Coyotes was the worst
Go-go of my entire trip. On our way back towards Soi 2, we parted ways

return we made plans for supper to meet everyone in our lobby in about a

Upon return to my area airport and picking up my baggage, I found that
one bag didn't make it back on time and would be delivered the following
day to my home address. After approximately one week the vomiting/runs
stopped and I am now dreaming of my next trip. A few post travel thoughts –
What to bring? As little as possible, in reality I only had one check bag and a
carry on. I did bring things I never used like a nice pair of slacks and
an extra pair of casual shoes. On the next trip my wardrobe will only
include shorts, underwear, t-shirts and polo shirts. Don't go
excessive here as the price to have laundry done is very cheap and even
I used the hotels service I'm sure I could have found it cheaper. One item I
wish I had brought – a collapsible umbrella. This would have been
pretty easy to stow in a cargo pocket considering how much it rained.
When
purchasing airline tickets, make sure you don't get stuck in the last
row as the seats don't recline and if you're a big man think twice about
China Air. Don't get
hung up on the hottest girls in the Go-Go's, more than likely they will
only go for short time as they don't make as much money for a long time.
These girls know they're pretty and it's definitely a business for
them. Don't
worry about price, this is your holiday, prices are cheap in Pattaya and
everything is definitely up to you. Bring a
good digital camera, plenty of condoms and if you think you'll need your
cell phone bring it along. You can always have it unlocked to work in
Thailand, as I did it at the Big C for 500 baht and then installed a
Thai SIM card. Once that was done, I could even call back to the USA. Barter for
everything you buy, there are no set prices in Pattaya Watch your
tab at the bars and Go-go's and check it regularly. Make sure your tab
only reflects what you authorized. Get out
and see some the sights, this place is beautiful!
