The Sanctuary of Truth of Pattaya

The Sanctuary of Truth

Like an Oriental Notre Dame the 100 meter high  Sanctuary of Truth is a wooden castle of wood carvings and gargoyles that has to make my top  list of Pattaya Thailand's ten wonders.  Unlike many of the other treasures of the Pattaya area it's so quick and easy to get to.  All you have to do is get your head out of your beer, get out of bed before 1 in the afternoon and get a taxi.  Either a baht bus or motorbike taxi will do.   Tell the driver to go to Naklua Soi 12 (Soi Sip Song Naklua) and head West.  Most likely this will be a left turn.  Then head toward the Gulf of Thailand.  Less than 2 kilometers down Soi 12 you will come to an imposing entry gate surrounded by Medieval appearing concrete walls.   Inside you will have to pay 600 baht a person.  For two, that is if you bring a girlfriend along, this is an expensive outing by Pattaya standards, but when you go inside and pay the entry fee you will immediately understand why.
