| Built in 1936, the Jewel Box seems to stand alone in isolation in its own corner of Forest Park. Which is probably what its designers intended. Architecturally, it is both compelling and haunting. So much so that it has been named to the National Register of Historic places as an outstanding example of greenhouse design.
