The Jewel Box of Forest Park
by Jack Corbett

The Jewel Box in Forest Park

Built in 1936 in Saint Louis, the Jewel Box seems to stand alone in isolation in its own corner of Forest Park.   Which is probably what its designers intended.  Architecturally, it is both compelling and haunting.  So much so that it has been named to the National Register of Historic places as an outstanding example of greenhouse design.  Rather than ramble on, I'm going to provide you with one more picture of the Jewel Box--along with a link to another site you might find interesting.   http://www.slfp.com/ForestParkJB.htm
